Wheel of misfortune
COMPLAINT: Charles Jaco, St. Louis
"Seehra Automotive replaced the master cylinder and did other brake work on my 1993 Mercedes 190-E. They failed to tighten all the lug nuts on the left front wheel and only installed four of the five lug nuts.
Three hours after I picked up the car, the front tire and wheel separated from the car while my wife was driving it. She wasn't hurt, nor was there much damage to the car. Seehra Automotive expressed shock initially, but then denied they were responsible, saying maybe 'some vandals' loosened the lug nuts."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "If they'll refund my $550, I'll chalk this up to caveat emptor and be done with them."
RESPONSE: Jitender Seehra, owner, Seehra Automotive
"The member alleges that the front wheel tire separated from his automobile, yet there wasn't a single bit of damage to the vehicle or a mark on the street. We towed the vehicle, reinstalled the wheel and they drove off without any issues. His demands are out of the question. We gave him extremely discounted prices and he still didn't pay the full amount of the bill. I'm glad his family wasn't injured and his automobile wasn't damaged, and I thank God for that."
