Broken sprinkler causes dispute

Published on February 10, 2009

Repair snare

COMPLAINT: Billie Blair, Cape Coral, Fla.
"S & N Lawn & Pool Care mows my neighbors' lawns. While there, they ran over and broke one of my expensive sprinkler heads. I called Corey Noland, the owner, and explained what happened. He sent me a check for $30 to repair the sprinkler head, but the actual cost was $61. He refused to pay the other $31. He's been very rude and told me to take him to court."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the $31 balance."

RESPONSE: Corey Noland, owner, S & N Lawn & Pool Care
"The member never gave me a chance to fix the sprinkler. She called me after she had it repaired and told me I owed her $61. I know how much the parts cost, so the rest of the charges were for her handyman. I'm not paying for her handyman's services when I never had the opportunity to resolve the problem myself."
