Peeling paint job a problem for San Antonio homeowner

Peeling promises

COMPLAINT: Linda Murray, San Antonio
"I hired Roadrunner Construction to remove and replace rotten wood and to prime and paint the exterior of my house. I signed a contract and it seemed the job was completed as agreed. However, several months after completion of the project, the new paint began sloughing off the fascia in a number of areas.

"I called about these problems a number of times, and they promised to come back to correct the problems. I haven't seen or heard from them since. I have bare wood showing on the fascia and other wooden areas are rotten because they weren't replaced."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want all damaged or rotten wood replaced, and all areas where paint is peeling or flaking to be scraped, sanded, primed, repainted and caulked."

Buggin

COMPLAINT:  James T. Matthews, San Antonio
"I've been with Accurate Pest Control since 1994. I received my renewal notice for this year and sent the money in. About a month later, I called to inquire about when my inspection would occur and was informed I was being canceled for nonpayment. I sincerely feel this may be a ploy to get rid of customers who've been with the company for a long time."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I request half of the $775 startup cost for the new company to render termite services."

RESPONSE: Ricky Hebert, owner, Accurate Pest Control
"We had no record of payment and asked the member to produce a cancelled check to consider reinstating his termite renewal. I'm very sorry the member isn't happy with our company, but we do have policies in place we need to enforce."
