Columbus handyman shocked at consumer complaint

COMPLAINT: Joan Warner, Columbus, Ohio
"I hired Deluxe Home Maintenance to do a variety of projects, including painting, kitchen floor repair, exterior roof repair, replacing basement ceiling tiles, replacing two doors and resetting a toilet.
"The problems began at the beginning. The quality of the work, combined with the money I spent on them, is very upsetting. I feel that I was charged too much."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like at least half of the amount to be refunded, which would be $3,200."

"I was totally shocked to hear of this complaint. We've had over 2,000 customers without a single complaint, along with A ratings on Angie's List. We'd actually given her a written quote two weeks prior to her approval of this project.
"She had also signed a contract for the amount as invoiced. As a matter of fact, I have her on a recording saying that she was pleased with the work that was completed. This project lasted two weeks without a single complaint and without a deposit or any money down to start the project.
"We'd given her one week after completion of the job to pay her bill, which she did without a problem. I did numerous extra projects at no charge, just for good will. This person has no justification to give our company such a bad report."
