Common sense for those common laundry issues Give me your wrinkled, your linty, your off-white. Here's some free laundry wisdom:
- Wrinkly towels, jeans or linens? No time to iron? Fold them then take a seat on them as you fold other clothes. Feel free to add gas.
- Don't want to spring for a sweater drying rack? Drape the sweaters over an old window frame with fiberglass screen instead. Remove cobwebs first.
- Do you iron your ironing board cover? No need. Put it back on the board while still damp. It will dry perfectly unruffled. And be an example to the wrinkled masses yearning to be smooth.
- To de-lint corduroy, brush with a clothes brush while still slightly wet. Use caution around Corduroy Bear.
- Wet mittens or socks can be dried by fitting them over jars and putting the jars on top of a radiator. Careful not to put hands or feet into the jars.
- Want whiter socks? Boil them in a tub of water with a lemon wedge. Drinking lemon-scented sock water isn't recommended.
