Slab safety

COMPLAINT: Nancy Leuschner, Montverde, Fla.
"I hired Stone Fuzion for a kitchen remodel, including installing a granite countertop on my island. I made it clear several times before the contract was written that I didn't want a seam in the countertop. Mike Weldon, the owner, assured me the granite was large enough for the island with no seams. When the granite showed up, it was cut in two. Mike told me he had to cut the piece for the safety of his employees. It's great he cares about his employees, but that's not what we agreed upon. I refused to allow his employees to install it.

"I called Mike to try to sort this out and remind him of our earlier conversations regarding what I wanted. He raised his voice and hung up on me. If he needed to charge more for more employees or more equipment, that would've been fine, but it was never mentioned. If he knew he couldn't do the island without a seam, he should've said so and I would've had another company do it."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a refund of $2,750."

Purple's the new white

COMPLAINT: Judi King, Winter Park
"I sent Capri Cleaners a linen blouse for cleaning. The white trim on the black blouse came back purple. I was told I can't expect white to stay white and the blouse is still wearable. After four cleanings the trim is now light gray and the blouse is ruined."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to reimburse me $90 for the cost of the blouse."

STATUS: Penalty Box
