A switch hitch
COMPLAINT: Kathlyn Johnson, Chicago
"I drove my Audi to Fletcher Jones Automotive Enterprises to be serviced. I just needed to have a parking light repaired, but I did mention that the car had hesitated once or twice.
"They charged me over $200 for a fuel filter and gave me the impression that this was the likely cause of the hesitation. When I left, my car was stuck in third gear. I went back, and they claimed I needed a $1,200 repair for a switch that controlled the transmission.
"I had my car towed to another automotive service, and they reset the multifunction switch for $50 in 10 minutes."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Fletcher Jones to pay for my rental car and towing, and to refund all charges except those for the parking light repair."
