Boston plumbing contractor allegedly threatens homeowner
Published on February 1, 2010
COMPLAINT: Mark Anderson, Hanover, Mass.
"I hired John Hoadley and Sons Inc. to unplug a toilet. What a nightmare. The crew left oil and dirt stains all over my carpets from their dirty boots.
"They did unplug the toilet; however, they also did work that was not authorized. They dragged equipment onto my roof, damaging shingles and my drip edge.
"They charged me $430 to remove a clump of toilet paper that could be seen from the top of the toilet. Afterward, the owner made threats [if payment was withheld]. Stay away from these people."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I will accept $200 to repair and clean up after their workmen."
