Approximate cost: $80 for an hour-long private session; six-week group classes run about $150-$200

Description of work: "My dog, Twig, has taken agility training with Stacey Hawk - both private lessons and group classes. Stacey teaches all levels of agility, which is a great way to improve your dog's obedience skills and have fun with your pet."

Member comments: "I rescued Twig from a shelter in Indiana about five years ago. She just had a bunch of puppies and was very timid. She was extremely nervous, especially in unfamiliar environments. She would shake and shiver, and couldn't function outside of the house. Even the basement steps scared her.

An obedience trainer suggested I try agility classes to help build Twig's confidence. We've been going for more than two years now, and the training has changed my dog's life. Twig is now confident and playful. And she's not afraid of the basement steps anymore. We continue to train - not for competition - but because my dog has so much fun in class."
