Obstacles outside
COMPLAINT: Heather Green, Portland, Ore.
"Wolf Construction and Investments LLC spent a couple of months redoing the exterior of my home. They worked hard without taking many breaks and worked some weekends.
Some of the subcontractors weren't professional and asked for payment before they completed the job. The subcontracted painter did a sloppy job and missed sections of the house. The paint is cracking and bubbling.
The subcontracted electrician didn't properly rewire, causing a blown fuse, and had to come back to fix it. The front porch cover is leaking, and the covering for the back patio wood is buckling. The company never returned my calls to resolve the problem."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like them to look at the roof on my front porch to determine why it leaked, and to push back the buckling planks in the back covering and fix it so it won't happen again. I want them to weather treat and fix all cracks and bubbles in the exterior paint."

Sofa snafu
COMPLAINT: June Chen-Todt, Lake Oswego, Ore.
"Neuman's Upholstery was supposed to repair a ripped seam in my leather couch. I paid a $100 deposit, and they promised my sofa would be repaired in two weeks. When I called, they said they needed additional time.
I called [a couple of weeks later] and confirmed the delivery date, but they didn't show. They [later] said the sofa couldn't be returned due to water damage the shop caused. The stain may take 12 months to go away or may be permanent.
After many phone calls, they agreed to send me a check for $300 toward the replacement of the couch and return my deposit, but they haven't paid. My sofa is still at the shop, and they haven't returned my calls."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like the $400, as promised."
STATUS: Penalty Box
